“So?” she said. “That’s hardly worth bursting an eardrum.”
But Galinda’s eyes sparkled in a very specific, unsettling way.
“But they’re for you!”
Or,
someone has been leaving flowers at Elphaba’s door for weeks, and she’s certain it’s a cruel joke—until the notes start feeling like truth, and she starts hoping, and maybe falling, for the one person she thought would never see her like that.

Elphaba had been ablaze with fury and power in the City. She had seemed larger than life. Larger than anything he'd ever known. But here, in the soft lamplight of her refuge, all that heat had burned down to embers. She looked suddenly small to him: too young for the weight she carried, too exhausted by the sins of Oz that her soul seemed to carry.
Even so, the quiet strength in her posture hadn’t dimmed; she was still brave in that strong, unyielding way that made something deep and restless in Fiyero ache desperately to reach for her.
That feeling, at least, was familiar.

He exhales, tilting his head. "You’re anxious because I know about sex, and you don’t."
"I know about sex!" Elphaba protests, sharper than she intends.
He almost rolls his eyes but lets a smirk tug at his mouth instead. "Sure. The theory."
"Yes. That is knowing."
"That’s understanding, but not knowing," he pushes back. His voice dips lower, steady and deliberate.
Elphaba stiffens, her shoulders tense, her gaze cutting into him, as she wants to argue, but the silence betrays her. He’s right, and they both know it.------------------------

So, so good! Wonderful dialog, wonderful actions, wonderful feels. Explores beautifully Elphaba's misgivings about her own humanity, her hesitancy towards giving in to emotions and sensations, her reluctance to expose any more of herself than strictly necessary but her desperate desire to explore intimacy and pleasure despite it all. And Fiyero is all too willing to put his knowledge on the subject of sex to the test of making her comfortable and offering her fulfillment in ways she had not even imagined possible, in the sweetest and most sensitive but brilliantly sexy way he can. Just the first step towards showing his shy green girl that she can open up to him (in more ways than one!) and trust him with what she can until she's ready for more.

Elphaba shifts nervously against the pillow. She opens her mouth to say something, to deflect, but then Fiyero is pushing himself up and settling down at her side, eye-level. His hand comes up and holds her cheek. When he does things like that, he can see that feral, defensive part of her brain weaken. “What’s worrying you, Fae?” he mumbles, and there’s so much love in the way she stares back at him that he can almost feel her walls shake.
She takes a deep breath. “I’m scared that… that you won’t like it. And then where would that leave us?”
