Most people have read this story, and with good reason, I might add. I'm just going to be straight up: it's a tragic story. This is a story that will most likely make you sob your heart out from beginning to end. It's painful but incredibly beautiful to read. Since everything is in John's point of view, it leaves Sherlock somewhat in a mystery - which tends to only tug at your heartstrings more since you only get glimpses of what Sherlock's going through. Now, I swore that I would never read this story just because I knew it was tragic, but I wound up doing so anyway. Let me tell you now: it's worth it. This fanfiction was beautifully written and painfully deep, and every second you spend on it will be worth it because it brings out raw grief.

If you love Alternative Universes (especially with werewolves) then look no further than this story. It's intricate and interesting, and you begin to piece everything together about partway through (So my suggestion is don't overlook the beginning. It's there for a reason). It's a good mixture of smut and comfort, and the werewolf Sherlock in this story is very possessive of his mate. The story is told from Sherlock's point of view, which is a nice change, and you really get to see his side of the entire story, which leaves an air of mystery around John for once. Possible sequel in the making, by the way, although this can be read as a stand-alone.

This series is great for if you want to sit down with a hot cocoa, bundle up in a blanket, and read something that will make your heart melt. The developing relationship between John and Sherlock is exquisite as well as the characterization of both men, and I could actually see these words coming out of their mouths. Just enough smut and drama for the story, and I definitely recommend that you read this if you haven't already.
