Summary
Izuku Midoriya is unlucky, to say the least and life hasn't exactly been kind. Things weren't so bad in the beginning, but once he was diagnosed quirkless, well, it all went to shit. Everyone grew to hate him, even his best friend and own father.
Was it really that impossible to become a hero without a quirk? It doesn't really matter because to Izuku, the term hero is flexible. He'll be his own hero because he's learnt from his own experience, people are selfish and the only one he can rely on is himself.
Left alone to fend for himself in the world, Izuku goes out to change things on his own terms, despite his methods being slightly illegal. Keyword, slightly. It's only illegal if he gets caught, right?

Izuku Midoriya has spent his entire life underground. Raised within sterile walls and fluorescent light, he became the villains’ prized scientist — a genius with shaking hands and dead eyes. They kept him compliant with chemicals, feeding his addiction until he couldn’t tell the difference between need and control. The drugs are the only thing that keeps his mind from shattering — or maybe they already have.
He cuts, builds, and experiments because that’s all he’s ever known. Blood on the floor, needles on the table, equations on the walls.
When Aizawa Shouta leads a raid on the underground lab, he expects monsters. He doesn’t expect to find his nephew among them — trembling, drug-sick, and so far gone. As Aizawa fights to bring him back, Izuku must decide if redemption is even possible for someone who’s learned how to build monsters — and become one.
