Randy decides to be brave. “I care about you.” He spoke up, “I called them because I was scared. I left with you because I wanted to be with you. Whatever…” He was quiet. “Whatever that means,” he finished. Randy's face was pale and like he was going to throw up, but Benson assumes that's because of the words that just fell from his lips. A confession. A confession thrown at him like he was a stray cat who is too scared to trust him. “Whatever that means…” he echoes, his brows furrowing as he takes it all in. His mind was so frustratingly blank. Nothing but impulsivity coursed through his veins. Randy nodded; he could tell from his peripherals. He could also tell Randy was staring, waiting for his response. Benson chose to ignore him and light another cigarette.
It isn't long before it's done, and he's lighting another.
