Summary
You come to Tulsa with a suitcase, a borrowed bedroom, and a grief you do not know how to set down.
Living with your aunt and uncle means rules, curfews, and the constant expectation to be grateful. School brings unexpected kindness in the form of Ponyboy and Johnny, and a slow, cautious sense of belonging you did not think you would feel again.
Dallas Winston is trouble in a leather jacket, sharp tongued, guarded, and far too observant. You try to keep your distance. He does not.
What begins as wary glances and uneasy proximity turns into late nights, quiet defiance, and moments of safety you did not know you were missing.
In a town divided by lines you were never meant to cross, you learn that staying can be its own kind of rebellion, and that some people are worth choosing, even when you are afraid to.
