Summary
When someone falls in love, their loved one's scars appear on them.
Wei Wuxian isn't certain that anyone will ever think taking his scars would be worth it.
The Lan Clan has an ugly history associated with lovescars, and Lan Wangji has only ever heard about them in the context of the family curse.
There are no scars related to platonic love. For some, this makes romantic love look more painful by comparison; for others, it only makes it harder for them to express their love for their family.

Summary
If he was being honest, James Potter had known his future since he was eleven years old.
His dad always said that Potters had a knack for it. One glimpse and they knew exactly where their story ended up. His dad found his future in the library, trying to steal a book on blood magic, back when the bloke had been Gryffindor Prefect. Fleamont Potter told his son of that knowing, that knack that led his path to love.
It seemed a universal experience for the men of the Potter bloodline. Whether birthed in some Veela lineage or affinity for soul magicks, it was a commonality for Potter men to find their careers and their wives young, and stay with them until their death.
James met his future on the Hogwarts Express.

This morning when Lan Zhan had first arrived, Wei Wuxian had started off with a teasing suggestion that the two of them go pheasant hunting together. He fully expected Lan Wangji to say no. He even had other, more palatable suggestions lined up in his mind, ready to go when Lan Wangji inevitably shot the idea down.
To his surprise, Lan Wangji simply looked at him, nodded, and said, "If that is what you want."
His tone had been so deadly serious that Wei Wuxian hadn’t known what to do, so he’d just rolled with it.
or, Wei Wuxian tries and miserably fails to call Lan Wangji's bluff.

“—When I got close to you.” Tim finishes. “Do you think we mess each other up when we're close enough to each other?”
“Well shit, apparently we do.” Jason says. “That's—”
“That's a liability in the field, is what it is.” Tim interrupts. “We’ll inevitably have to fight together again, and this is going to throw us off.”
Jason whistles. “Well, shit.”

Tim can kill people with a touch, and Jason can bring people back to life. When they find out their powers go haywire in each other's proximity, they begin spending time together to attempt to fix it. Things spiral from there.
