    Summary

The air bites his skin as he lands behind the brush near a lit clearing. Akaza looks up at the torch-lit clearing, his citrine-sapphire eyes locking onto a human dressed in ceremonial clothing, the human’s eyes are covered by a cloth that has the kanji “flames” written on it. He’s barefooted on the cold hard ground, yet he moves to a dance that has no song as if the cold doesn’t exist.

It takes a moment for Akaza to process what he’s witnessing.

Dancing. This man is dancing in the bitter cold. He’s going to get sick.

    OR

While on the hunt for the blue spider lily, Akaza witnesses the Kamado family's Kagura. Meeting the Kamados changes his whole perspective of the world and his absolute morals.

    Summary

Giyuu finds himself conflicted in this very moment, wondering what in the timeline is at stake should he strike, because the annals of history are so easily altered that Sabito is standing next to him today (his own sword unsheathed and one of his hands tugging at Giyuu’s arms so hard his fingernails are digging divots into his skin.)
He worries at his bottom lip, and registers the movement of the Lower Moon, who rudely has not waited for him to finish his rumination and was unleashing a demon blood art, whose exact skillset he does not remember but reacts to on instinct.
Giyuu is struck by immense Deja Vu as he decapitates the demon once more.

Tomioka Giyuu has no intention of becoming the Water Hashira again in this bright new world where Sabito is alive.

Sabito takes in a deep breath. “WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT?!?!”

But really, old habits don't seem to die (even when he already did).
And why does the Upper Third remember his name in a world years before Giyuu('s reckless ward Tanjiro) ever gives it to him?

    Summary

"I don't want eternity, Akaza." Rengoku murmured, his eyes painted in a deep melancholy. Akaza's heart throbbed painfully; Kyojuro just didn't understand. "The best thing about possessing a finite life is the infinite emotion present in every moment, knowing that you have to cherish it before your short time on this earth ends." Rengoku clutched Akaza's hand tenderly; even a simple action like this possessed such a profound sensation of sadness, Akaza thought ruefully, as if he knew that this bond of theirs could only end in tragedy.

"Eternity is the only way I can have you." Akaza choked out.

    "You have me now."

    "But not for eternity."

    Summary

“Kyojuro, have you ever thought of becoming a demon?”

Wind flows around them, winter cold settling on his body and making the few leaves on the trees shiver. It is so unlike the heat under his skin, making his blood boil in fury at the implication of Upper Moon Three.

    “No, never.”
    ___________________________________________________________________

Ever since his training, Kyojuro had accepted the great possibility of living a short, lonely life. Still, he was dedicated to fulfilling the promise he had made to his mother, no matter how much of his own life he would sacrifice on the way.

Ever since becoming a demon, Akaza had promised himself to rise in the ranks, mind set on becoming stronger and stronger for a reason he himself did not know. Still, he followed that goal blindly, ready to defeat any Slayer without hesitation.

Because of these mindsets, they both knew well how their encounter would end; with a Pillar dying in the arms of an Upper Moon.

    Oh, how wrong they were.
