Tommy needed to get the fuck out of here yesterday.
He slammed his foot down on the brake of his stolen car and shifted into drive, ignoring the chaos of the superpowered fight going on less than a block away. He was about to pull out of the alley he was hidden in when the passenger door was abruptly yanked open. Tommy jumped, head snapping towards the door.
He came face to face with a man wearing an opaque black veil.
Shit.
Or: Tommy is a teenager on the run from the number one superhero in the city, Dream. In his most humble opinion, he's doing great at staying under the radar while making his escape attempt.
That is until three of the most feared villains in the city decide he's now their getaway driver. Fuck his life

Tommy chuckles dryly. “If only.”
Void tilts their head. “What’s the matter?”
“I’ve been tasked with bringing you two in. I don’t suppose you’ll come willingly?”
Ignis shrugs in faux sympathy. “No can do, boss man. You’ll have to do this the hard way.”
Tommy blinks at the nickname, momentarily jarred. It’s something he hasn’t heard in a long time, but- that’s not…no, it can’t be. He shakes it off, settling into fighting stance. He’s got his handguns in his thigh holsters, throwing knives in his boots, plus some smaller knives stashed in his suit, but he doesn’t think he’ll need any of them.
“Alright, boys. Let’s do this.”

So imagine Tommy’s surprise when he spots a rooftop with three dark, looming figures and hops on over under the assumption he’s interrupting your day-to-day drug deal with a quip, “I don’t know much about drugs, but this does not seem like the best place to sell ‘em, boys,” and finds himself face-to-face with the top three villains of L'Manberg.
The trio halt their heated discussion, turning to him with simultaneously puzzled and frustrated expressions.
Shit, shit, fuck, shit.
Tommy freezes, blinking at them as his heart nearly beats out of his ribs, certain that he’s not getting out of this alive.
What a shitty day to die. If he’d known, he would’ve…well, he doesn’t know but he would’ve done something, maybe broken a record or jumped out of a plane.

Summary
Running was all Tommy ever knew. Whether it was from one house, to another. Or away from one person, just to find himself trapped by another all over again. It was all he ever knew and he was fine with that. He never ran into any problems. Only from them.
Hiding in one spot, only to be found. You’d think it was futile, not to Tommy. Tommy swore to himself he wouldn’t stop hiding, not until his body gave out.
Or: Tommy is running, and he doesn’t know how to stop. That is, until someone(s) teaches him how.
