Summary
Fang Duobing sneers at him and throws a punch. Di Feisheng counters with one of his own. The scene predictably devolves into a childish sparring match. As they tussle a part of Di Feisheng is pleased to note that he was right, Fang Duobing has indeed gotten a lot better. Still not good enough to win, though.
With a triumphant grin Di Feisheng throws Fang Duobing on his back, straddling his thighs to hold him down, pinning him in with a forearm across his shoulders and a hand at his throat. Fang Duobing looks shocked for a moment, then snarls, face heating with either rage or embarrassment.
That’s when Di Feisheng sees, hiding behind the misery in Fang Duobing’s eyes, a spark of desire… and something like relief.
Oh, is it like that?
...Because Li Lianhua is not the only one eager to know exactly how that happened.
The working title of this fic was "DiFang Side Quest." This is technically a prequel to My War Is Done, but it can be read as a stand-alone work.
