Summary
Slowly, Caitlyn turned around to face the female lycanthrope, who didn’t seem to care; too focused on the pain she was going through. The surgeon watched her for a few seconds before making a decision. She announced softly, “I’m going to call for help.”
The lupine eyes widened in disbelief before the creature straightened up, grabbing the seat to support herself and nearly crashing the headrest with the strength of her fist in the process. Caitlyn gasped and recoiled, putting as much space between them as the car allowed. Once again, the red-haired woman opened her mouth, finally managing to speak. “No. Please.”
The voice was not human, deep and gravelly, almost too distorted for the words to make sense.

!!SPOILERS SEASON 2!!!
Caitlyn gently finished cleaning Vi’s hair, a deep shade of red finally emerging. It wasn’t as vibrant as it used to be, but it was close enough. The commander grabbed another towel to slowly dry Vi’s hair, delicately scratching her scalp to ensure she wouldn’t feel cold. Long strands of hair framed Vi’s beautiful face, and the faintest smile escaped Caitlyn as she realized how much longer it had grown. It suited her.
The chief enforcer finally let go of her former partner, laying her back down on the bed. The unconscious woman seemed peaceful, but still painfully motionless. Caitlyn stood from the bed after a final loving stroke of Vi’s cheek and returned to the armchair.

A quick glance at what happened between episode 6 and episode 8, and what’s going on in Caitlyn’s head before she finally gets her deserved redemption arc. There’s no fluff, she’s just here suffering, but we all know how the series ends, so don’t get mad at me.

“Okay. Her name is Caitlyn, b–"
“Semantics.”
“ -but you already know that. Well, she is acting a bit weird when I’m talking to other girls; at first, I thought she might be homophobic–”
“Which wouldn’t be surprising from a stuck-up Piltie, TBH."
“Pow-Pow, come on.”, Vi scolded her with a frown. “But she’s not the type, so I’m a bit confused. What do you think?” As Powder stared at her without saying anything, she added, “Pow?”
“Oh, I can talk now? Honestly, I was hoping for something more interesting. She wants to bang you, that’s it. Or maybe you to bang her.” After that, she pretended to vomit into the puzzle box.

"4th January," Caitlyn answered carefully. This seemed suspicious.
"Of course, a Capricorn. I had like, 0 doubt about that!"
"Come on, don't tell me you believe in this nonsense..."
"It's not my fault your sign is written all over your face. I'd bet my arm your rising sign or your moon is in Virgo. Tell me I'm wrong." Vi's cocky smile was driving her crazy as she retreated in her chair.
"Pointless to bet your arm,” Caitlyn retorted immediately “it's already half-broken anyway."
That was a low blow. Vi feigned outrage, placing her hands over her heart as if it had been shattered. When Caitlyn's comment was met with silence, she let out a sigh and added softly:
"I do have Virgo as a rising sign." While Vi pumped her fist triumphantly in the air, she quickly added, "But it means nothing. It's just using the law of probability to fool you."

The rest of the bar howled with laughter and Vi could do nothing but groan and down another beer.

The three dots appeared again. Then disappeared. She realized that she was entirely too invested in this conversation and hadn’t even gotten around to texting the original person that she had been trying to text since all this started. She brushed it off, still unwilling to back out of the message thread.
For a brief moment, she wondered if this is where the conversation ended, the gap between messages longer than it had been for any of the previous. Maybe Vi, if that was really her name, got bored with entertaining the conversation and moved on with whatever she’d been doing before.
