Summary

“Baby,” Tsukishima tests out, steadfastly ignoring how it brings heat to his own cheeks, too.
The effect is immediate. Kageyama makes an unintelligible noise, and the flush spreads all the way down to his neck. Cute.
Slowly, Tsukishima’s lips form into a smug grin. “You like that, don’t you? Baby?”
Or: Tsukishima calls Kageyama his baby. Kageyama proceeds to malfunction.

Kageyama makes an incredulous noise, a sort of tch! in the back of his throat, but doesn’t retort. After a few moments, he says, “You are better at communication than me.”
Kei’s known him long enough to know what this means. “So is Natsu,” he responds exasperatedly. “That doesn’t mean she’d be a better vice captain than you.” He tilts his head to the side consideringly. “Although…”
Kageyama shoves him again, but he’s smiling now, which Kei was counting on. Kageyama’s always had a soft spot for Natsu—Kei thinks it’s because she’s like Hinata but with less qualities that make you want to kick something.
“Thanks,” Kageyama says after a few moments. His voice is gruff, but he meets Kei’s eyes again, and they’re so much softer that Kei forgets how to breathe for a moment.
or: 5 times Tsukishima and Kageyama repressed thoughts about each other's eyes, and 1 time they didn't.

“What the hell are you talking about,” is what Atsumu says when Aran asks him whether he has a crush on a certain setter with dark hair and blue eyes whose name rhymes with Blageyama Wobio. But his ears are red and his nostrils are flaring and he looks like he would rather be ripping out his own hair than be here for one more second which means that he’s lying. He’s never really been good at lying, not to Aran.

He feels the warm body beside him kick the sheets away and expose Tsukishima to the cold. He curses before pulling the sheets back, in an attempt to minimize heat loss. He stubbornly keeps his eyes shut as an attempt to fall back into sleep.

“I’ll see you soon, Tobio.” Atsumu says it like he can confirm that it will happen, as if that is his choice to make.
And when he looks like that, glowing, otherworldly, outlined with the golden hues of victory, Tobio cannot do anything but believe him. So he chooses to follow the sound of his voice, all the way to the next stage of his career.
Kageyama Tobio wants love. Miya Atsumu has plenty to give. All it takes for him to share, is time and some trust.
