Summary
May overhears a classmate complaining to her friends that she can't find a place to stay and her lease is almost up. May is fairly familiar with this classmate with them sharing a few classes; she knows her name is Tamara and she also knows she is the definition of drop-dead-gorgeous.
So she mentions that she overheard her in their next class together, and suddenly May is helping Tamara move into her spare bedroom. And soon Tamara is making her breakfast, and they're driving each other to work or school.

Zoey watches the flame on her desk every day, repeating words her sister told her long ago. "You are more than your parents' child. You are better than them, better than me even. You are full of life, but I know this home feels like a war, and you are a stranger to this suffering; so I will make it my life's goal to save you from this pointless fight."
Zoey is missing her older sister now more than ever as it gets closer to 10 years without contact. When her parents forced her to cut Misa off she thought she'd find her again when she moved out, but that never worked. So when Rumi and Mira find out about her estranged sister they make it their main priority to find her and get the two back in contact.
This is a story of Zoey, past and present, learning to accept who she is and how to do what she wants instead complying with the expectations of others. And a story of long lost family reuniting.
