“Stop it!” Serana cried out. She’d heard the tales of how he could kill with a thought. It was best not to sleep when the Dread Wolf was near, because he could take you in your dreams.
Fen’Harel continued to walk around her, taking her in with an infuriating show of indifference to any threat she could pose.
“What exactly am I supposed to stop?” He asked. He halted in front of her. His smile was not of humor but of knowing condemnation.
“Stop getting into my head. Stop manipulating me,” She said.
Fen’Harel laughed in delight at this. He could see the rapid pulse that beat at her neck. She wasn’t just afraid of him. No, she was too brave for that.
She wanted him and didn’t like it. There was something about her that called to him. Is this why Mythal sent her to him? Maybe for a short while before he set her free, he would indulge.
Fen’Harel said, “I have done nothing to you. Anything you feel is of your own making.” He ran his hand down her arm, removing the dagger from her hand. He felt the telltale goosebumps rise on her skin, heard the stutter of her breath, and saw the flush on her cheeks.
He had already won. She was his.
