Summary
Dean has been avoiding Castiel as much as possible since the dust settled on the end of the world. When forced together to go investigate a haunted lighthouse, things start to thaw, but Cas’ confession still hangs over them, and they’re still not talking about it. Cas’ choice to trust a ghost and risk his life (again) might be the thing that pushes them over the edge.

Summary

Still, an assignment handcuffs him to Castiel Novak, a trench-coat-wearing poetry nerd with serious eyes and a habit of saying the quiet part out loud. Between late-night drafts, unwanted feelings, insane work hours, and caring for his little brother, Dean is barely holding it together. When Sam gets seriously sick, Dean’s guilt threatens to blow up the best thing that’s happened to him in a long time...until he and Cas figure out how to talk, with help from Gabe’s chaos, Sam’s puppy-dog eyes, and Milton the guinea pig’s unsolicited commentary.
