Summary
In an alternate universe, Garfield Strongfield is a dutiful son and a wonderful cook hoping to make ends meet for his kitten, Silly Paws, and his struggling family with the perfect job. He sets his sights on "The Greyson Bistro", the best and most refined restaurant in town, run by Damien Greyson and his family. Working at such a prestigious and high-end restaurant was only ever a part of Gar's fantasy and he's not sure he has what it takes to make it a reality — but he soon learns that he's got more of a chance than he thinks and that there's much more to Damien than meets the eye.
Note: In this AU, Gar's family doesn't own an animal shelter and he's much more of a cook. Damien's family is still wealthy but rather it's from their restaurant.

The ginger’s despondency turned into anger funneled into a different direction, right towards this conversation. It seemed he couldn’t be quiet anymore, so he balled his fists and exclaimed.
“Y-yes Kinjo, yes. Of course you’re wrong!!”

“Hey.” Yoichi’s voice rang loud and clear, knocking him out of his thoughts. His eyes immediately returned to his face as he casually pretended they’d been there the entire time. “Checking me out, huh? You could be more subtle about it, you know.”
Taiga clenched his fists, face flushed. It wasn’t the best indicator that he was telling the truth, but luckily it was hot as hell, so the redness of his face could be blamed on the heat.
A heatwave passes through Camp Buddy, and everyone’s stuck inside to try and avoid the blistering heat. Trying to cool down, Taiga runs into Yoichi while walking to the pier. In the cool wet chill of the lake, things get even hotter than the temperature outside.
