She put a hand on his shoulder, pulling him into an awkward side hug as the two fluffy-haired teens walked along. “Not your fault. To be honest, that’s why I’m rooting for you and ‘Chaco. I’ve wished that I could feel like that for someone, anyone, for the longest time, and it’s just never happened. I see you two, looking at each other with so much damn love when the other one isn’t looking, and it makes me want to scream. Life is so short, so go for it. I know you don’t want to risk what you’ve got, but you can have so much more.” She poked his cheek, dead center in his small cluster of freckles. “Just think about it, promise me that.”
