Tobey McCallister’s ten-year-long crush on WordGirl is stronger than ever, but as he’s grown, he’s claimed to have “put childish things behind him,” and yearns, instead, to devote himself to an all-consuming adoration of her. Every public appearance he makes is possessive, shameless, and verging on religious the way he poeticizes about His Dear WordGirl. Despite having dated at least five different girls, he’s told each of them, quite honestly, that he would absolutely leave them for his darling superheroine, if she wanted him to.
