"Hayakawa Aki is perhaps the most indecipherable human Angel has ever met. For someone so driven to accomplish his ambitious goals, he tangos with death a bit too often. Maybe it's in his nature. He's gotten good at the footwork, avoiding stepping on death's toes. But it's a dangerous game. Perhaps accepting his impending death grants him the courage, or perhaps indifference, to get closer than close to things that could kill him."
A light-hearted fic about Aki and Angel getting closer. Mostly canon compliant, before shit hits the fan. Here, we can pretend that nothing tragic will happen to these slow burning hunters.

“Didn’t I tell you not to eat the cake, hm?” Yoshida whispered into Denji’s ear.
“I—” Denji swallowed, and then schooled himself to answer brashly. “It was Power! She just crashed in to raid the fridge and ate the cake even when I told her not to!”
Yoshida chuckled, the sound sending shivers running down Denji’s spine. “I see,” he said, punctuating it with a scrape of his teeth against the shell of Denji’s ear.
Suddenly Denji found a long, elegant index finger tipping his chin up all the way so he could see Yoshida smirking down at him, “But Denji, baby, your mouth is smeared with chocolate.”
