Coyote came back to the desert, Road Runner developed some kind of weird separation anxiety in which, if he wasn't out of his cave by midday, the bird would hover around his cave, beeping, kicking rocks, stealing stuff, or throwing tantrums until he went out and chased him. Yet, in the end, Road Runner wasn’t bouncing impatiently on his toes or angling his body for another sprint like he always did.
Now he stayed, staring directly at him with those enormous blue eyes that seemed to be demanding something.
What, Wile had no idea.
