Summary
Sometimes he could see them when he closed his eyes. All the people he couldn’t save. They appeared in varying states, some as healthy and spirited as they were in life, others exactly as they were when they died. The dreams themselves varied too. Sometimes the people would scream and rage, asking him why they weren’t saved. Sometimes he saw them, curled on the ground, begging for their loved ones — anyone really— to come rescue them. In the worst dreams, though, they would come to him and tell him it was okay; that they didn’t blame him for what happened. Those dreams always left a sour taste in his mouth. He never believed them.

Summary
