“Jisung is in heat,” Minho says, slow, clearer.
“I thought his heat isn’t supposed to start until after you’re back?”
“I know. I talked to his doctor before I called you- sometimes when you’re away from your mate, it can trigger it early. Emotions get too high, distress, it throws your whole body out of balance. This is the first time we’ve really been apart since we moved in together. I think the distance and time- he’s not doing well with it. It’s not a real heat, he can’t conceive from it, but it feels the same. Hurts the same without an alpha.”
“Shit, Min. Are you coming back today, then?”
“I can’t. I tried to find a flight out but nothing that would get me there before tomorrow night at the earliest. And I couldn’t, even if I wanted to.”
“Why?”
Minho takes a deep breath, the kind he only takes when something is bothering him.
“He asked for you.”

Summary
He wants Felix in ways that he shouldn’t and he’s known this for so many years but the weight of it crashes into him sudden and splintering.
For so long, if he didn’t think about it, then it wasn’t real. He could look at Felix’s pretty lips and small hands and big eyes and he could pretend it didn’t mean what it does.
But it does, and he knows that, and bile burns the back of his throat as he forces himself to sit up before he can puke on the floor.

Summary
He thinks about the kids, each one of them tucked so tightly inside his chest that it feels like a heart attack sometimes. He loves them so much he feels the physical pain of it in his chest when he lets the thought linger.
He craves them in a way that isn’t healthy, and he knows this, he does. He needs to be better about it- he needs to be better about not smothering them in affection, better about leaving them alone but he can’t help it. It’s carved into his ribs, embedded into the very fabric of who he is to take care of them, to give them everything he possibly can.
