Leon was getting worse.
If someone had told Piers that in merely a couple of months Leon would be unable to even walk down the stairs from their apartment to the closest corner store for some snacks, he would’ve told them that was absolutely impossible. Leon was basically a super hero. He did things no other human being Piers had ever met could do. He’d survived the kind of missions that would’ve been death traps for anyone else. And now he couldn’t walk half a block to go get himself a soda.

Summary
Leon and Chris are sent out to an abandoned prison overrun with zombies to figure out how the outbreak happened. They find what they need, but finding what they need starts a countdown to detonate the prison. Leon and Chris dash out, but get caught up at the barbed wire topped fence outside. Chris gets over without issue, but Leon is a different story.

He shuffled towards the bathroom, rubbing a hand over his face. His reflection in the mirror over the sink looked worse than he felt, pale, hair sticking up in every direction and dark circles under his eyes turning the skin almost purple. He tore his gaze away and turned on the sink, splashing cold water onto his face.
When he let his arms drop, he noticed something on his right hand. A small bruise had started to form. And then he started coughing again.
