Summary
"It's just funny," Shane says into the sleepy silence of the dark room, chuckling.
"What is funny?" Ilya asks, feeling half-asleep himself. But Shane is speaking and chuckling, and so Ilya must stay awake and listen.
"Us," Shane says, voice lazy and slurred with sleep. "It's funny that the only times I've topped and the only times you've bottomed are both with women. It's like we still have a "gay first time" experience that we have never done, even after all these years."
Still snickering softly to himself, Shane drifts off to sleep.
Bastard, Ilya thinks, now wide-fucking-awake.

Summary
Shane runs the pad of his thumb against the trimmed edge of Ilya's fingernails one by one. His head is filled with static. Ilya drums a beat on Shane's chest. Shane wants to tell Ilya thank you. Instead, he breathes in and out and feels Ilya's fingers tapping rhythms into his bones and wishes for a different life.

Shane felt it again, that tug at the corner of his mouth. He bit on the inside of his cheek to suppress it. “Did a lot of puzzles with my dad,” he said.
“Ah, I am psychic,” Ilya said. Then he winked, which felt delicious, extravagant. Shane wanted so badly to lean in and kiss him he was sure it showed in his eyes.
“I thought you did that silent retreat thing,” Hayden said, frowning.
