When the residents of National City wake each morning, their memories of the previous day are gone. They have enough information left to live semi-comfortably. Their name, age, basic skills and functions, and the fact that your memory will be erased at the end of the day. No knowledge of family, friends, workplace. Where you wake up hopefully has all the information to live out the day.

Pressed between Mira’s steady hands and Zoey’s restless energy, she lets herself unravel, each touch and sway stripping her further of the distance she usually keeps. The air is thick with perfume, sweat, and laughter, but all she feels is the warmth of them, skin against skin, rhythm against rhythm. Every brush of lips, every guiding press of hips, winds the tension tighter, until she can hardly tell where the music ends and the three of them begin.

“Okay. What’s your name?”
Lena’s response is knee-jerk. “None of your damn business.”
Supergirl runs her fingers through her hair. It sticks up wildly near her temple, and Lena can see a slight cowlick. It’s strangely humanizing. “Look, my boss isn’t going to like that I’m working with an unknown as it is. If we’re going to work together, I at least need something to call you.”
When Lena shakes Supergirl’s hand, she feels the warmth of victory when the hero seems shocked at the firmness of her grip. But alarmingly an even stronger warmth radiates from their joined palms, spreading up her arm; Lena pulls her hand back faster than what’s generally considered polite, curling it into a fist.
“You can call me Kieran.”

For over a hundred years, Lena has been trying to escape the suffocating hierarchy of the fae – and ever since her mother moved LuthorCorp to National City the only way to do so is to work with Supergirl, with whom Lena shares a soul-deep connection she can’t control.

‘I’m getting married,’ Lena breathes emphatically, entreatingly, and her attention snaps to like a band pulled taut. She watches with increasingly disaffected pliancy as Lena seizes both her hands in one of her own and flashes her left at her, right under her nose. ‘Say something,’ Lena laughs, a little too breathless, a little too conscious. ‘You’re making me nervous.’
Don’t, she thinks she could’ve said, and the vehemence of the very thought startles her. Why? is a little better, syntactically, in theory—less cruel, an open question, room for conversation. Really? is enthusiastic, breakwater, appropriate, adequate.
‘Oh, god,’ she says instead.

Summary
When Earth, a dying planet, is destroyed by the affects of climate change, a four-year-old Lena finds herself strapped inside a pod and sent away from her world, and towards a planet her father found circling a red sun. Upon her arrival, ten years after her pod had been launched, she finds herself on Krypton, a planet that isn't kind to her human body.
The weight of a red sun is too much for her fragile physiology to bear, and with the threat of a shortened lifespan, Lena spends her days in isolation trying to find a cure for herself, instead, finding superhuman powers along the way. With the powerful House of El turning against the people of Kandor City, Krypton finds itself needing a hero, but with her frail body in danger, Lena has to choose what matters most to her; her health, or protecting the people she cares about.
