Summary
“I’m not going to give you information,” Pete volunteers to his bent over form. There’s no way to know exactly what’s in store for him but Pete feels the need to make that declaration.
There’s a sharp zapping sound, and Vegas turns to face him then, revealing the jumper cables in his gloved hands which are connected to a car battery on the table behind him. The rest seems self-explanatory.
“I don’t want information,” Vegas says, finally looking up at him from the cables.
By then Vegas is already advancing on him, much too close for comfort. But Pete has already resigned himself at this point.
Or the one where Pete is very uncooperative at being tortured, Vegas gets a little too creative and falls for his own trap in the worst way possible.

The first time Vegas coughed out a petal, he had brushed it off as a fluke.
He was outdoors, walking to his class. He thought it had come from somewhere else.
When it happened again, he was studying in his apartment. The small blue petal rested on his textbook, covered in spit.
Vegas stared at it.
Then with much hesitation, touched the little petal.
It can't be. It can't be. It can't be.
Vegas clutched it into his fist, hoping it would disappear.
When he opened his fist, it was still there.
Or, Vegas is so in love with his roommate that it made flowers grow in his lungs.

Summary
Korn had offered them a singular room with a singular bed without any prior consultation, a fact that made Pete feel more uncomfortably seen than anything up until now. Obviously, everyone knew he was with Vegas; he made no attempts at hiding it. You don’t dramatically quit a job with a retirement package consisting entirely of a respectable funeral in order to run off with the enemy and not have everyone know, Pete was aware of that. Still. It felt unnerving, somehow, to have Korn know and recognize it, like the bottom of his stomach had dropped out, like his eyes were in every corner of this room. It can’t be any better for Vegas, because at least Pete had lived in this house for a decade before, knew the way things here worked. Vegas had no footing.
Vegas and Pete move back into the main family house, and try to reclaim something lost.

“Yes, Khun Vegas.”
Vegas takes a slow breath in and Pete lets himself look up from where he’s been staring at the floor in front of him. It’s usually safest when in the presence of the minor family.
“Call me sir,” Vegas slips into English, and Pete is thankful for the half dozen years of English he took in school and the years of lessons he’s had since. He understands the words though he’s not sure why Vegas wants him to call him anything other than his proper title.
He’s given up on wondering overly much about Vega’s motivations.
“Yes, sir.” Pete even mimics Vegas’s English, tapping his fingers against his thigh anxiously as Vegas continues eyeing him up and down.
