“Did we win the game? Why is Il— Rozanov here?” Shane croaks, confusion written plainly on his face. One of his arms is in a sling. He shifts and winces, his good hand hovering idly over his stomach, then pressing into his eyes. He’s aching all over, this sudden feeling of wrong, wrong, wrong engulfing his entire body.
“What happened?” he asks, more alert now, “Where am I?”
Hayden just looks at him, shock and heartbreak written all over his face.
Or, post-marleau’s hit, shane ends up in the hospital. he ends up with a broken collarbone, concussion and a devastating loss he’d never anticipated.

I'm sorry-" Hayden didn't let Shane finish his apology, pulling him by his arm, dragging him inside the apartment and when the door is closed Hayden kiss Shane desperately, pressing him against the door. His hands on Hayden's hair and Haydens hands went to his waist, lowering to the ass, grabbing more brutally, then going to Shane's tights and pushing him upwards.
"Hayden." Shane hissed betwen kisses."Wait." He breaks the kiss.
"What-Where." Shane closes his eyes for a moment, trying to breath. No, Hayden wants to see his eyes. After a deep breath, Shane speaks. "You are so hard Hayden, where is Ilya?" Rozanov is waiting for them, just as hard as Hayden.
(or, Shane is late to their third date, when he arrives the party has already started.)
