Summary
The hug seemed to go on for several full minutes, Thimble’s grip growing tighter and tighter with each passing second, as if she were afraid he’d disappear or grow back to his normal size at any moment.
Occtis chuckled, then wheezed a bit as he spoke in her ear. “You’re lucky I don’t need to breathe.”
“Shut up. You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do this.”
Occtis and Thimble take a day off for themselves when a mishap leaves him the same size as her.

Summary
"Do it again,” Occtis says before he can think better of it, before he can put his foot in his mouth and say something silly. He wants very badly for her to touch him again. It made him feel almost human. He's ready to spout justifications. He could talk about how it's for scientific purposes and he's trying to monitor the amount of sensation left in his flesh. It's an important aspect to consider when monitoring how successful his reanimation really is. It's just a way to gather data and it didn't particularly feel good but it felt like something and it was a lot more than he'd felt before. Maybe it's because he's so at ease with Vaelus next to him, gazing at him like that, like he's the answer she's been waiting her whole life for. He's so ready to ramble about all this out loud but she denies him the chance to do so. Vaelus obeys him instantly, reaching out to touch him again.
His eyes open wide as her finger wedges into the gap in his wound, sliding inside him.
Vaelus assists Occtis with closing up his wounds, but not before opening them up a little bit more.
