Every day that he walked into work, Sam told himself he was just going to ignore Shane and leave him alone, which is what Shane wanted, anyway. It would be nicer if Sam didn’t talk to him. Nicer if he pretended he didn’t exist.
But every day when he walked in and crossed paths with Shane, he didn’t leave him alone and he didn’t ignore him.
“Hey, man!”
Sam called out to Shane as he walked across the back of the store heading to the employee break room. He cringed at himself, the sunshine-y tone and cheerful wave he gave Shane, who was stocking bread onto the racks on the rear wall. All things that Shane hated. Including having to stock the bread.
Shane just looked at him, then rolled his eyes and exhaled a low breath as he turned back to the job he was doing. “Morning, Sam.”

A deep sense of fear had engulfed me. I felt like I was drowning in it, waves crashing over me, water filling my lungs.
“C-Can’t I just stay in my room?” I asked as Professor Hyde essentially dragged me across campus.
“No can do - the crazy alphas would break down your door!” said Professor Hyde.
“Hyde! You’re scaring her!” hissed Professor Nicolas. I had no doubt I smelled terrified.
“Don't worry MC. We won't let anyone hurt you,” said Professor Hyde as he opened the heat room and all but shoved me in.
“Y-Yeah but-” And the door slammed behind me.
Sitting on the double bed in the heat room, I was terrified Taiga would be shoved in here with me, and well, that would be the end.
Before I could sink further into misery, the door opened, and in walked Alan Mido.
“Alan?” I said in surprise. I hadn't known who to expect, but it certainly wasn't him.
“MC,” said Alan, staring resolutely at the floor.
