The doll ends up being ridiculously cute, almost perfectly round and made of soft minky. It’s big, too—big enough that Suguru can barely wrap his arms around it without squishing it. One half of it is entirely black to represent Satoru’s uniform. The spiky hair and blindfold have been lovingly designed and sewn on, along with tiny round hands and feet. Mimiko stitched a mild smile onto doll-Satoru’s face, and somehow, fittingly, it ended up looking smug.
“I love him,” Suguru declares, hugging the doll to his chest and resting his chin on top of it.
“Yeah, that’s kind of the whole problem,” Nanako grouses.

probably one of the most beautifully written fics in terms of prose i have ever read. the kind of bittersweet ending was a bit anticlimactic for me personally after the sweetness that was supposed to happen in the last chapter, but I also think in terms of narrative is a really good ending considering it goes with the exact same bittersweet mood of the whole story. I really do love the detail of not knowing who's the one that dies at the end bc for me too, is easier to imagine my own death than yoongi's lol
plain and simple, I loved this story and wish I could've had more of it, but I also understand the highs and lows of writing and I appreciate a lot the author's effort to finish the storyline even tho they had no obligations to do so.
I also wish more fics were so beautifully written like this one ! -
