The year is 882. Sigefrid and Erik's army has been crushed by the Scots at the edge of Northumbria. When they limp back to Eoferwic, they learn that priests have risen against their rule. With their backs to the wall, they must ally with Guthred, a Christian Dane and a fool, until they rebuild.
This journey takes the brothers from Northumbria to Frankia where they besiege Paris, and then to East Anglia where they raise the dead, seize the fortress of Beamfleot, nail some priests, take Lunden and then give it up for the bargain of their life.

This is like improv, but with writing. I'll set up the scene, and you have your character, and I have mine, and I write something, and then you respond, and then I respond, and it can only go forward. No going backward (except to fix typos because that's legit and I can't type).
Each turn can be as short as a few characters, and as long as a short paragraph. You're allowed to bring in new characters too, but whatever is written becomes instant canon in this AU.
The set up: modern AU. Sigefrid hits on Gisela in a trendy pub and it goes horribly wrong (except in the end it's fine)

This is the fourth part of my series, Aethelflaed Does What She Wants, which is self-explanatory. It's part parody, part smut, part straight up porn. Because I'm bored and I can, and I think sex can be hilarious. In this alternate fix-it universe, Aethelflaed is a bit (a lot) of a nympho, and Erik struggles to keep up.
In this story: Sigefrid deals with the aftermath of his toxic relationship with seer Skade. Aethelflaed, the lady of Mercia, and her Viking husband Erik Thurgilson, return to Dunholm to visit their friends and allies Ragnar and Brida. The couples face the awkward aftermath of their respective infidelities, and decide to smooth things over without their clothes on. At this point it's fairly gratuitous, I admit.

This is the sequel to My Price, the silly Aethelrick smut piece I wrote on a whim. It's also a fix-it, sort of, and it's kind of turned into a screwball comedy.
In Beamfleot, princess Aethelflaed of Wessex has convinced her lover/captor Erik Thurgilson of sharing her with his brother Sigefrid for a time. When Aethelflaed attempts to alter the terms of their agreement, she learns that even patient Erik has his freaking limits, and she must make amends to regain his affections.

Their journey will take them to Scotland where they besiege the Brittonic Kingdom of Alt Clut, to Frankia where Sigefrid has a bromance with Danish commander Rollo, and to Northumbria where they become the earls of Eoferwic (but are you truly in charge if your own brother won't even let you set the priests on fire? asking for a friend).

I wrote a canon-compliant backstory about the Thurgilson brothers, because the world needs way more Sigefrid and Erik!!
The story starts with Erik's birth under the full moon, and it follows the brothers all the way to Beamfleot where they kidnap a certain princess. Along the way, it depicts what growing up with Sigefrid would have been like for Erik, what shaped their unique relationship, how they joined the raids to become Vikings and then war lords.This first part, Homeland, takes place in Norway during their childhood and teenage years. It's a family drama about childhood/teenage psychopathy with a Viking twist. It's also a first love story.
I tried not to shy away from darker aspects of the brothers' lives and personalities: Erik and Sigefrid were violent people living through a violent time, and Sigefrid is very much a psychopath despite also being a funny man. I also tried to capture how funny and lovable they can be, despite it all.

This story expands on Erik and Aethelflaed’s time in Beamfleot. The show’s writing and acting is so brilliant that I did not deviate from it, I used it as scaffold and found it cathartic to fill in the blanks. For those of us who've had trouble letting go of TLK season 2.
