She’s startled from her thoughts by a section of wall at the back of her bedchamber creaking open. She raises her eyes to the tall, lean figure unceremoniously intruding upon her privacy. “Uncle?”
It seems solitude is not to be found this night.
“You shouldn’t be here,” she points out. Not that such a thing has ever stopped Daemon.
And indeed, he brushes aside the censure without a care, drawing nearer instead. There’s something unsettling in the way his eyes sweep over her. “I could not stay away, for I will not stand aside to watch you bring yourself to ruin. You’d best look to your reputation, Princess.”
“And I’m sure having nighttime visitors in my chambers is just the remedy,” she scoffs.

Summary
It was all going to plan, that was until she turned from the screen, currently displaying some of the work she had done on a NASA project, and scanned the crowd of unenthused faces. When she reached the back row, her words died in her throat.
There, at the very back corner sat a student with the most beautiful and familiar green eyes.
Clearing her throat, she turned back to the teaching screen to remind herself what she had been talking about. No one seemed to remark her stumble, except him. Before she'd turned away, he smirked right back at her. A knowing smirk.
