Jake lets out a small laugh, nervous and shaky. “Do you ever think we act… weird?”
Sunghoon goes still beside him. “Weird how?”
Jake shrugs, eyes fixed on the grass. “I don’t know. Like–” He gestures vaguely between them.
Sunghoon leans back on his hands, looking out at the yard. “I think we act like ourselves.”

Summary
The room was filled to the brim with a thick silence between the two men. Eyes were hard as they looked at one another and Jake felt his fist shake. He turned his head to the side and took a breath, “You know what you did.”
“What did I do? We weren’t anything,” Sunghoon spat at him.
Jake’s eyes were full of rage, “Really? You left your notebook of your lyrics here and do you want to guess how many nights I’ve spent studying them? Trying to find a sentence,” Jake takes a step forward.
“A word,” another step.
“A syllable,” another step.
He was in front of Sunghoon then and he got close to his face, “A fucking letter to make me feel less crazy than what you left me feeling.”

Jake and Sunghoon have a complicated past. They were never each other's, but could never be anyone else's.
Jake keeps trying to find himself while simultaneously avoiding Park Sunghooon at all costs, but can't when he's constantly writing songs about them. Songs that stay in the Top 40. Songs about Jake. He is haunted by the man and can't seem to get over him.

‘Been thinking about this,’ Jake whispers, consonants slurring, and Sunghoon would be mortified by how desperately his body responds to the words if his mind wasn’t already so fuzzy. ‘Watching you drive. In the shower.’
‘Yeah?’ He hears himself pant lightly, struggling to keep still as Jake’s hands work him slowly. It’s always a shock to his system to hear Jake say it, to see desire reflected so plainly in his dark eyes. The confirmation that he wants Sunghoon, too.
