Because oh, how the mighty have fallen. How Regina has fallen. And she has, she’s fallen hard for the first real friend she’s ever had. The first platonic friend she’s had. Yes, she’s researched this quite a bit. And after reading through some uplifting ‘friends to lovers’ stories, she’s decided that the only thing she can do to keep Emma is to shove her feelings deep down inside her and never, ever speak of them. To anyone.
Is it a bit dramatic? Yes. But Regina’s always been a bit dramatic.

Addison walked up to them, close enough that they could see her when they glanced her way. Meredith was the first to notice her, her whole face lighting up. She gave her wife a brief smile before turning towards Dr. Shepherd, giving him one of her infamous evil smirks.
“Addison! What are you doing here?” Meredith interjected before she could say anything to the man.
“Really, you’d know if you paid a little more attention to the hospital gossip. Richard hired me as the new head of OB,” she said before turning to Derek, holding out her hand. “Hi. I’m Addison Forbes Montgomery-Grey.”
She watched with glee as his face paled.
“Montgomery-Grey?” he asked weakly.
By now, Meredith was hiding her own smirk behind her hand as Derek glanced between the two women in confusion.
Addison couldn’t help but get one last quip in, “And you must be the man who’s been screwing over my wife.”

Summary
Emma has been trying to convince Regina to agree to a Valentine’s Day date with one of the many bachelors in Storybrooke. They’ve been at it all lunch, which is quite frankly putting a huge damper on an otherwise pleasant day.
“I’ve already told you, I don’t want to date any of these men,” Regina replies.
“Okay, so none of the eligible bachelors are good enough for you,” she says slowly, as if puzzling out a complicated equation, “so what about the eligible bachelorettes?”
“No,” Regina says shortly.
“What about–” Emma starts, before Regina cuts her off.
“Why is it so hard for you to believe that I’d rather just be alone right now? I’ve had enough matchmaking and fateful interventions. I’m happy the way I am now,” she says, only allowing a bit of the irritation she feels bleed into her tone.
All her ire fades away when Emma gives her a beseeching look and says, “I just want you to be happy. You’ve been lonely enough in your life.”
In truth, she isn’t against dating right now, but only if the person going on the date is Emma herself.
Suddenly, she has an idea that will appease both of them.
“What if I already have someone I want to date? Will that satisfy you?”

Summary
For a decade, they’ve been dancing around. The constant push and pull is tiring, so much so that Regina almost doesn’t care what the end is. So long as it does end, she’ll be happy. But Emma’s divorce has just finalised, and that wretched hope crawls back up again.
She just wants to know if she should begin the process of moving on, or if she’ll get her coveted happy ending. Regina so desperately wants her happy ending.
Being heralded as a ‘good’ queen is all well and good, but somewhere deep down is still the young woman who just wanted to love and be loved in return.

Kara’s suiting up for her regular shift at the hospital when she gets a strange call from Alex. She frowns, puts on her Supergirl costume, and grabs her phone and keys as she walks out of her apartment.
Alex seems uncharacteristically nervous, reminiscent of all the times Eliza would ask them about something they weren’t supposed to be doing. They’re just exchanging pleasantries, and confirming lunch orders, when Alex gets paged to go back to work. Right before she says her customary goodbye, she asks Kara if she could help her out and stop by room 115 when she gets to the hospital.
It’s really not such a strange request. Kara dresses up as Supergirl and visits children at the hospital where her sister works as a doctor a couple times a week, when her schedule allows it. A lot of the kids ask for her, especially since the new Supergirl movie came out.

Henry thinks she should have more friends. It’s absurd, honestly. She’s a grown woman, and she can take care of herself. But Henry had looked at her with such caring eyes, telling her that he couldn’t bear the thought of her being all alone when he went off to university, so Regina had no choice but to fold. He only has two short years before he graduates, and Regina has to admit that he has a point. He’s been her world for so long, so she does sometimes worry about how empty her life will be when he’s gone.
Regina tries to make friends. It goes better and worse than she plans.

Kara pouts. She does this every time they have this argument.
They’re both sitting on the couch at Lena’s apartment, and Kara has the remote. They’re having a night in, and trying to pick what to watch.
“Why can’t we watch a Disney movie? You’re always telling me that I need to watch them all,” Lena suggests. Disney seems to be a neutral choice, and she likes the movies well enough.
“We always watch a Disney movie!,” Kara protests, “And if we keep it up, we won’t have any left.”
Or, Lena doesn’t like dramas, but she does like Kara

Through fights and curses, Emma admired her. Yes, she had issues, anyone could see that. She had done terrible things, but there was something about the way she carried herself that made Emma want to know how she came to be the person that she did.

“Okay. What’s your name?” Lena asks, and internally sighs in relief. She doesn’t want to deal with this woman any longer than she has to. Happy people make her a little uncomfortable.
“Oh! I’m Kara, what’s your name?” Kara responds, holding out her hand to shake.
Lena, who is holding a paper cup in one hand and a marker in the other, looks up at her with a very unamused look.
