Summary
Lamb had thought of a brilliant idea to get Narinder to lighten up. He’d been so moody ever since they usurped him almost a year ago, and so they figured bringing back his lost disciples would cheer him up. They couldn’t do this for free, of course. Narinder had been misbehaving for months, and they had to set an example.
Narinder wants his sons back, but the Lamb is trying to force him into a corner. Luckily for him, there's a goat who's willing to help.I don't consent to having my work uploaded by AI.

Summary
The Lamb had made a plan in their head. They’d refuse to give back the Crown, he’d get angry, they’d fight about it, Lamb would win and take Narinder back to their cult, and he’d rage until he finally accepted reality and bow to Lamb as the new god of death. This wasn’t part of their plan. He wasn’t supposed to do this. Narinder wasn’t supposed to be crying.
In which Narinder is NOT OKAY, nobody is happy about it, and the Lamb may not know Narinder at all.

Summary
The One Who Waits had never drawn his cards with Clauneck before, having said he hadn't the need to want knowledge of his future, said he thought it best to just live in the moment as is. The younger two of the bishops had teased him then, asking if his excessive reading of the eldest's books had made him "too good" for a little fun tarot card reading.
But as she walks with him by her side now through Anura's trees growing shrooms from the decaying bark, they find themselves stumbling upon the old fortune telling owl once more, centuries later, and it becomes increasingly apparent to her why he had never drawn for his cards before.
Yet now she's left with the question of why he's drawing them now.

or:
Narinder never intended to escape his fate.
In turn, Shamura's prophecy never mentioned a promised liberator, the sheep folk remain alive and well. (as well as you can be in the Old Faith) And Narinder never asks The Lamb to free him.
This fic is set in Heket's point of view, although it might switch, I haven't thought that far yet lololBookmarked by Monaster01

It hurt to breathe, rope rubbing against old scars, ribs aching, but damned if he didn't find comfort in it.

Summary
“And this side is the farmland!” Narinder turns, veil shifting. “We grow beetroot, cabbage, pumpkin, berries-”
“-and camelias.” She finishes, and the deer chokes and turns to look at her with wide eyes. Gratifyingly shaking when she approaches to assess the tilled land, bare for the winter. Carrots grew too, but when Lamb had come by the day after it struck her to mention it…
She looks to the deer. “This is my home,” she reminds him, enjoying the fear that flashes in his eyes. She wonders if he was a dissenter that Lamb had expected her to kill. “Kindly don't inform me about the fertility of my own lands.”
