Each morning, long before anyone could see him, he snuck into the bathroom to rehearse his disguise. Lips curving upwards, posture adjusted, smile relaxed and friendly, until it looked real enough.
Becoming someone else was simpler than being himself. It was safer to be the loud blonde guy. The class clown. The idiot, who nobody takes seriously. Because if he wasn’t that person, people might see him for what he really was: a villain in the making.

“I’ll see you on the bus, right?” Yamada abruptly changes the subject.
Shōta grinds his teeth. His contract had basically stipulated in much more words that he was supposed to follow Yamada around and take pictures of him, so yes, he would be wherever Yamada is, even sharing a tour bus.
“Yeah,” Shōta mutters.
“Great,” Yamada smiles. “See you.” Then he spins on a heel and heads off to where some other crew members are standing.
Shōta watches him leave for way longer than he’d like to admit.

After the death of his best friend, Shōta struggles to find a reason to keep going, both in his artistic practice and in his life. On a whim, he takes a job as a concert photographer for Present Mic, and several months of sharing a tour bus with Yamada Hizashi might be the thing to help him recover. -

Summary
Operation Braincell is a collection of works, that can be read all together in order. But many of the works can be read as stand alone one-shots, particularly Fake Happy, Ties and Aids, Yamadasexual is NOT a thing, and Mustang Stay or Mustang Go. All you have to know, is that in this series, they manage to restore Shirakumo from his nomu-state, and the first installment (Operation Braincell, from which the series is named) Erasermic finally becomes a thing.
