The lump of blankets wracks itself with another coughing fit, and unthinking of his fear, Akaza reaches out. (To what? Help? Soothe? Save? He is a demon. Such concepts are anathema. And yet, it's Kyojuro.
Akaza was reaching out to him before he knew his name.)

Summary
Kyojuro was bewildered by how fucking good it felt. How heady the feeling was of watching Akaza poke at his ruined eye in disbelief, smiling all the while. How relief flooded his system the second his fist connected with Akaza's face. The thought of continuing this fight, of snapping the demon's neck, crushing his internal organs, slicing off his limbs, was like a balm for Kyojuro's weary soul. Like having his own, personal punching bag would somehow lighten the burdens he shouldered day in and day out.
"Again," Akaza had said to him after they stared at each other in dazed silence.
"Hit me again, slayer."
Akaza fights and fucks the bad feelings right out of Kyojuro.
