Aka: a fic where King Magnifico is a villain informed by his increasing paranoia which is deeply rooted in trauma, Queen Amaya loves her husband and will protect him no matter the cost, Asha actually likes magic and becomes a Sorcerer’s Apprentice for at least a few days, and stars leaving the sky can result in disastrous consequences. -

Summary
Yearning was dangerous. It offered hope in places where hope didn’t exist, couldn’t exist. For years Masa had yearned for the love he read about in storybooks, only to realize far too late that what he longed for was nothing more than an unattainable wish. So instead of letting himself be poisoned further, terrified that he would become little more than a ghost if he stayed, he left. Alone and unseen he had left the place he once called home, and he was all the better for it.
Or: Masa is an invisible child who much prefers not to be seen. That starts to change, however, when he wanders into Moominvalley and meets a family eager to prove to him that visible or not, he deserves to be loved.

Summary
Evander isn’t from Terin. He isn’t and he doesn’t want to be, but leaving was always an impossible pipe dream ever since he woke up on the streets as a kid with no money and no memories except his name. In a place where being different gets you stabbed, he never expected to live long. Until he met Prince Julian, and suddenly all he could see was that annoying crooked grin which beckoned him into their latest schemes. But time changes things, and now, that grin has gone hollow - just a puppet for the creature that has taken control of Julian’s body. As the only one who knows the truth, it’s Evander’s responsibility to rescue his King from those demonic clutches before the damage to their kingdom becomes irreparable. But when he’s forced to pose as Julian for an anticipated assassination attempt, things get a little more complicated.
If he wants to save the man he loves, Evander is going to have to sweet-talk an assassin, stop a war, take down a tyrant, and perhaps bargain with an arrogant eldritch entity. And that’s not to mention a past which seems to be hiding more secrets than he originally thought. Easy, right?

OR
Sanji cares a lot about his knives. Zoro sharpens blades with deadly precision and divine focus. Neither of them can be normal about this.

Summary
When he gets the question, among their friends—and maybe someday: for the world—but when he answers that age-old question, he never imagined what his answer was gonna be.
He’s a six-time Grammy winning metal god (a quote, from Metal Hammer directly, so). He was gonna find love in a fellow musician, or the crew, or a weirdly normal groupie. Maybe at a venue bar, if Eddie ever went out to get his own drink.
He never did that, but like: if.
Most likely though was that Eddie Munson would never find love, save that of his guitar, and that was alright, really. He’d kinda always expected that, so it wouldn’t have been, like. A disappointment. Just business as usual.
That’s not how his story plays out, though. Thank fuck.
But it tracks either way that he doesn’t envision that the question of how he met the love of his life would ever, in a million years, be: oh, at a book signing.
A children’s book signing.
Eddie doesn’t even have kids, man.
Which makes it all the wilder still, when the reason for why everyone starts to ask ‘how’d you meet’ spawns from an attempt to fucking blackmail their asses.
