“More like I stole him?” Kate winced. “Kidnapped. Dognapped? Um. I saw him around before; I’m pretty sure one of the mobsters took care of him sometimes, though he obviously wasn’t doing a very good job about it.”
Yelena blinked, opening her mouth, then closing it again as she took a moment to process what she had just heard. “You stole a dog.”
“Technically? It depends a little on your definition of stealing, I suppose.”
Or
Kate rescues Lucky and brings him to the animal shelter to see if anyone is looking for a lost dog before taking him home. Yelena is a volunteer at the shelter.

"So... I've been thinking," Kate started slowly, avoiding looking at Yelena for some reason.
Yelena arched an eyebrow. "Oh, that's always dangerous."
"No, c'mon. Just hear me out, I think I have a way to get you out of this."
That piqued Yelena's interest; she had gotten used to this life and wasn't looking forward to running from the American government just because Eleanor Bishop was being petty. "Fine, but if it involves boomerang arrows, I am walking away."
"We're in your bedroom. Where would you go?"
"To your place and leave you here. I would lock you out, too."
With a sigh, Kate finally turned to look at Yelena, her face more serious than Yelena had been expecting. "We could always get married."

Summary
The gingerbread man on Kate’s green sweater is half-covered in flour, but infuriatingly, that only adds to the charm as she leads Yelena to a spot in the middle of the kitchen, bringing Yelena’s hands to her own shoulders before taking hold of Yelena’s waist, slowly guiding their bodies into an unsteady rhythm that Yelena supposes could be called dancing.
“Did you remember to get the first batch out of the oven?”
With a hum, Kate spins them both in place once, her eyes glinting. “Let me see… I can’t smell anything burning, so I think I did. I also put on the second batch just before you got back, and I even remembered to set the timer and everything. I did the dishes, too.”
“I am impressed, Kate Bishop,” Yelena deadpans. “All that and you didn’t need to use the fire extinguisher even once.”

Summary
So, Kate Bishop. Yes, Yelena tries not to think about her. The missions usually help. The alcohol definitely helps. But there’s no vodka here, no extraction team coming, no last-minute reprieve. Just the steady beep-beep-beep of the timer and the temperature that rises along with the cold acceptance that there’s no getting out of this one.
Or, Yelena hasn't seen Kate in more than a year and it takes almost dying a few too many times for her to finally do something about it.

Both Kate and Clint whip their heads toward the gallery where Yelena is leaning against the banister, wearing nothing but one of Kate’s archery sweaters from college and a teasing smile. Lucky is sitting at her heels, looking up at her with his one good eye as if he’s just as in love as Kate is. Head over heels. A complete goner. Kate is not blaming him. Clint on the other hand is dissolving into a coughing fit and pushes his mug away.
OR
Clint keeps interrupting Kate and Yelena's first 'morning after' and gets much more than he bargained for.
