Another hangover. And a killer at that. Matt groaned, and his throat screamed in protest. He licked his lips—dry, chapped, flaking to pieces—and then moved to bury his face back into his pillow. Time to sleep it- ...Wait. His… pillow? No, it wasn’t… It wasn’t a pillow.
As soon as that registered, Matt became aware of a few things very, very quickly: 1) his face was pressed into what felt a lot like a human torso covered by a t-shirt; 2) the sheets he was lying on top of did not feel like his own; 3) he could feel quite a bit of said sheets because he was not wearing a shirt; and 4) the room was not in fact perfectly silent. Someone was breathing.
Matt yanked his eyelids open. 5) Matt was officially in competition for the title of Stupidest Person on the Planet because that… That was Joe. Joe, his childhood friend. Joe, one of his roommates.
