Fig smiles, her grin sharp and excitable. “This year, you’re gonna make some new traditions. Yeah? You’ll come along with each of us on our holiday celebrations and you’re gonna learn what it’s like to have fun over Moonar Yulenear, got it?”
Riz blows out a slow breath. He doesn’t want to admit it but it does sound appealing to spend the holidays with someone else, versus his quiet mornings in an empty apartment after his mom has left for her fourteenth shift in a row without a day off. He imagines what it might be like to bake with Fig or drink nog with Gorgug or even go to church with Kristen. It might be nice, he thinks, to be amongst people during some of the loneliest days of the year.
“Okay,” he chokes out. “I’ll do it.”

“That’s so sad, man.” Riz’s face morphs into something sympathetic and distressed.
“I always thought I’d be the first to go. Now I’m gonna be even sadder when it’s you. How are we gonna handle that, Riz? How are we gonna go on without you?”

Fabian and Adaine are werewolves. Kristen and Gorgug are vampires. Fig’s more devilish than ever. And Riz is… still just Riz. A team of college freshman on their first guild-accredited adventure should probably spend more time on killing the Big Bad Evil Guy and less time talking about Riz's health habits. But as the only 'normal' one in the group, Riz finds himself the center of alot of pent-up anxieties. AKA: Riz is the only short-life mortal on the team, and everyone is projecting a bit.

Robin closes her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose. One, two, three…
“The bad news is that there used to be a hamster in that cage.”
Josie gets to have the class hamster for the weekend, much to the disdain of Robin, Steve and Eddie.
