I read this once a very long time ago, around the time it was finished, and when I did, it shook the very foundations of my world. When I revisited it more recently, I was again brought to tears by the story, the romance that bloomed from abhorrence, and the adventure - but especially the reason for Ike's first death and the way he wilted, then grew from it. I wish I could've been there throughout this fic's development, and part of me even wishes there was more for me to read, but I also feel that this fic is perfect as it is, short and sweet. I'll keep this fic in my heart forever.

This author is so immensely sweet and talented it's so insane... This story is so engaging and gorgeous. You feel like you're living through the story with the characters, throughout their conflicts, experiencing the plot through their eyes... It keeps you on the corner of your seat, and wraps itself up so perfectly, like a self-made present. I'm treasuring this one for a long time.

"You poor creature," he whispered as he pulled the panting cat close to his chest. The cat was heavy and huge compared to a regular cat.
He touched the cat's paw with his fingers. "This won't take long. I can fix you." He reassured with a deep whisper, before closing his eyes.
He was taking the cat's pain. It was an ability of his that he liked to use to save everyone from overbearing pain. The cat was tensed in his arms, and he knew it was in some deep pain. He would take it without hesitation, and he wouldn't leave this cat here. The pain that he took from the cat slowly spread throughout his body. It was familiar, it stung and it ached.
He was fine.

Or an AU where Hex found an injured cat in an alleyway during one of his night walks and decided to heal and take it in. But what would he do when one day, the cat he adopted turned into a futuristic man with white hair, cold eyes, and metallic arms?

Shoto has a really high sex drive, but his lover — Vox, isn't sexually attracted to male bodies, which led to them having a romantic and non-sexual relationship — and it was completely fine for Shoto. Everything was okay, really. What mattered was that they loved each other.
Vox who always wanted the best for Shoto, however, had a different opinion.

Emotionally complex and morally gray characters are always a treat. Layer that on a sugar daddy AU with a heartbreaking story that lends a pen to both protagonists, and you've got me hooked. I truly hope they get the good ending they deserve, but I won't abandon ship no matter what, even if the boat sinks.
