Summary
Single dad Marlin slowly starts falling for his sons new swim coach.
A month had passed, and the swim lessons had become a cherished routine. The chilly spring evenings had given way to the warm embrace of summer. As Marlin packed their bags, Nemo chattered away about the new tricks he'd learned and the friends he'd made. Marlin couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort in the familiarity of it all.
They pulled into the Dolphin Dive's parking lot, the low sun casting a warm glow over the buildings. The sound of children's laughter and the smell of chlorine grew stronger as they approached the pool.
"Marlin! Nemo!" Coach Gill's voice boomed across the poolside, his smile as wide as the ocean. "How are my favorite father-son duo today?"
Marlin couldn't help but feel a jolt of excitement at the greeting. He'd noticed over the weeks that Gill had a way of making each child feel special, but there was something about the way he said their names that felt more personal. "Good, thanks," Marlin called back, his own smile genuine.

Maya blinks.
The child blinks back, then erupts into noise.
“Daddy!” The child screams, “Someone broke into our house!” The ear piercing wail almost deafened Maya’s ears.
Despite her confusion, Maya managed to speak, to give in the sudden urge to defend herself. “It’s not breaking in if I have the key—” she splutters out.
