There’s an ache in her belly every day, screaming at her to go back. It’s gnaws at her bones until she feels numb, restless, like there’s no purpose to life if she’s not drafting NDA’s and fixing corporate fuck-ups. She tries to ignore it. In the mornings it creeps up her throat like bile, and by the afternoon she’s forced it back down, sorts all of her emotions into neat little filing cabinets, never to be opened again.
… or, after the GoJo deal, Gerri tries retirement. Roman tries therapy. They don't see each other for over a year.
