"Hakoda hadn’t meant to walk in on his son kissing the Fire Prince. He’d been looking for Sokka- intending only to ask if he wanted to spend the afternoon hunting (it had been so long since they’d been hunting together- or done anything together, he thought, and there was a familiar pang through his solar plexus, like the ghost of a poorly healed wound). And yet, when he rounded the corner into a room that, he belatedly realised, was the Prince’s temporary bedroom at the Western Air Temple, that was exactly what he saw.
It seemed it was time for a talk with his son."Look, this started as Hakoda gives Sokka and Zuko the Talk (TM), and evolved into an exploration of masculinity, culture, fatherhood, and recovery from abuse. I honestly can't explain how. Enjoy!

Summary
When Lucius gets sent on an errand by Stede—his magicless boss who is currently shacking up with Blackbeard, the most notorious sorcerer in history—he’s expecting a mild disaster at best. That’s how these things usually go. What he gets instead is an introduction to Izzy Hands: talented purveyor of magical items, secretive shut-in, and just the kind of handsome that Lucius finds difficult to resist.
Lucius is thinking that charming Izzy will be his biggest challenge of the day, but neither of them can know about the old enemy of Edward's lurking nearby in the shadows. If they don't quickly figure out how to work together, Blackbeard's past might just overshadow the sparks (both magical and not) flying between them.

Sokka doesn’t flinch, or falter, or do a double-take when he sees Zuko’s scar. He just keeps smiling.
“…yeah,” Zuko says, feeling a little burned by the warmth in those blue eyes.
Or, five times Zuko has help doing the dishes + one time he does them alone.

The Fire Nation and the Water Tribes have a tense relationship, even after a peace treaty was signed. Zuko's advisors suggest a royal intermarriage between the countries. However, the royal families don't have a lot to offer. The North no longer has an heir, and the only Southern princess is already well into a relationship with the Avatar. Which leaves only one heir to the throne.
