Summary
Simon had found it on the desk.
He knew that Grace had said it was okay to look at his desk, even touch some of the things on it. He also knew that Grace was more than slightly afraid of him, so he didn’t want to do anything to upset him.
However, the little creature on top of the pile of Grace’s things had made Simon stop immediately.

Summary
The rest of that day had been spent curled up under his sheets, a blanket and pillow over his head in an attempt to block out the small sliver of light his curtains let through. He’d thought about getting up for food at one point, but the moment he tried to stand up, he felt himself flopping back down onto the bed again, his headache spiking and the pain increasing tenfold. He let it happen. The idea of food turned his stomach anyway, despite it having been hours since the entire thing had been emptied into his toilet.

Summary
“I don’t need you to tell me, droplet, I already know what you’ve been doing in there. I know what you always do when you get like this.” Dewdrop’s breath hitches in his throat, and when he tries to draw breath in again, he can’t. He can’t breathe. Mountain knows. He’s known the whole time. Mountain knows and he’s never done anything about it. The one pillar of support Dewdrop thought he’d always be able to rely on to keep him safe knows, and he hasn’t cared enough to check in properly. Never once cared enough to try and save him.

Summary
Ghouls, in their near-immortal lives, never stop growing. They’ll develop normally until they reach adulthood, then continue to grow very slowly for the rest of their lives, gaining a couple inches every decade or so. A Ghoul of Aether’s height would be in their early-to-mid 200’s, Aurora much younger at around 60, Mountain was the oldest at well over 500, probably nearer to 600 but he lost count long ago.
Ghoul’s always kept growing, unless you were a runt, that is.Or,
Dew is a runt but the pack don’t know that, and Swiss is a never misses an opportunity to make fun of the Fire Ghoul’s short stature.
