Summary
Zoro didn't mean to give in to his body's demand for food, each bite taking him further from the goal of returning to the realm of the unconscious. He didn't mean to agree to stay and help with the dishes in return, to allow himself to associate with another mortal.
He didn't mean to become attached, and he came to regret these indulgences a mere decade later.

Summary
"Will you be able to tell if my hands are cursed?"
Zoro looks at the outstretched hand, pale from the lack of sunlight and littered with small old scars. Gently he takes the hand in his and closes his eyes to concentrate, ignoring the pounding of his heart and the heat spreading across his cheeks. He feels nothing, no hum of bloodlust or intention of harm, just the warmth of human flesh in his palm and the slight tremor against his own steady hold.
Zoro shakes his head and feels the tension leave the hand in his grip.
"Why do you think your hands are cursed?" He asks and receives only a small frown in reply.

Summary
You’d wondered once, how a heart would taste. You imagined iron, the salt tang of blood that stung in your mouth after a hard kick split your lip open. Maybe the tang of steel, like the edge of a knife, perhaps with a gloss of oil that would coat your tongue and smack your lips.
It had shocked you, later, when Sanji explained that the flavor would be pleasant, if intense. "The heart’s a muscle like any other."
Would he hold your heart so gently?

Summary
“Fucking hell cook, what happened to you?” Zoro demanded, voice low so as not to disturb the others sleeping nearby.
Sanji rolled his eyes. “What do you think? I told you we got in a fight earlier.”
“Not that, your fucking feet!”
The cook snarled at that, crushing his cigarette in his teeth. “What the fuck do you mean, my feet? They’re just feet!”
Zoro’s eyes widened, looking at the bruised flesh before him. This wasn’t that.

Summary
Sanji could feel it getting worse. Edging closer and closer to a point of no return, where affection faded and the cook would only be left with resentment. The feeling was already clawing its way into his heart, clutching and contaminating his thoughts of Zoro’s smile, his laugh, his gentle touch - all stained with emptiness and dread.
How long before that darkness was all Sanji had left?

Summary
Zoro never expected to fall in love at the Christmas Night Market.
Or on the side of the road. Or the hospital. Or the ballet. Or even at the liquor store.
Never the type to believe in love at first sight, too much of a realist for fairytales, he'd still managed to discover something undeniable here... Maybe this was the holiday magic people claimed to believe in, a gift he never thought he'd receive.
He'd arrived at the strangest intersection of fate and chance encounters, destined to meet Sanji only once a year... at Christmas.
