Summary
After eight hundred years of animosity, Feng Xin and Mu Qing have finally called truce on their age long feud. And surprisingly enough, they have gone over a year without a major fight.
Xie Lian, ever the mediator, is determined to get his old attendants to get along. While neither are outwardly willing to go along with this plot, they find themselves spending more and more time together. But getting to know each other better means stirring up long buried feelings for both of them. But Feng Xin's married, and Mu Qing would rather die than let his own feelings complicate that. But little does Mu Qing know, Feng Xin's marriage has been on the rocks for a while now and neither of them are prepared for the consequences.

Summary
Hua Cheng lowers his hand, and both Feng Xin and Mu Qing crash to the floor. Feng Xin winds up with rugburn on his cheekbone and a dislocated shoulder, getting the better end of the deal than Mu Qing, whose nose is gushing blood between his fingers. Payback for earlier, at least—but his satisfaction is short-lived when Xie Lian hiccups a sob on the divan and then breaks into a string of rapid cries so panicked they sound painful. He slaps at the cushions of the divan, terror escalating, eyes wide open.
“Help, help, help, help,” he gasps between cries. “Help me. Help me. Please. Please!”
When a tongueless spirit appears in the south and curses ghosts, gods, and mortals alike with catatonia, Hua Cheng, Mu Qing, and Feng Xin must work together to solve the mystery behind the curse and save Xie Lian from the horrors ravaging his mind.
They may never find a cure, however, if the villagers plagued by the spirit don’t stop lying to them at every turn.

“Hahaahha…we’re husbands….” Feng Xin muttered between laughs.
“Thanks to your lie, mind you. Now sober up quickly, we have things to discuss and deputies to talk to.” Mu Qing sighed, elbowing Feng Xin fairly gently in his arm.
“Pftttt. Calm down husband, I’m p-hiccup-perfectly sober.”

Due to circumstances out of their control, Xie Lian finds out that Feng Xin has told a brothel worker that he and Mu Qing are married - a lie he simply told to get her off his back…but Xie Lian believed it! Not wanting to hurt their closest friend after seeing how happy it made him, the two Southern Generals decide to keep up the scheme for a bit longer and fake a divorce down the road.

Mu Qing was irritated. Being around the other Upper Heavenly Officials had that effect on him, but Pei Ming in particular always rubbed him the wrong way. He was too loud, too demanding, too obnoxious, much like someone else he knew and had to deal with on a much more regular basis.
