Without a heart, stuck with an empty feeling inside of him that nothing managed to fill, and a lack of understanding of human emotions, he’d never thought he’d be capable of falling in love. Sure, there were people he liked, and he could make friends, but he’d never truly loved somebody. Evidence that it was possible caught his interest, and he didn’t want to have something so interesting removed just yet.

From the very start of the games the manor owner had made it clear to all hunters. Scores were important and should be kept high, failure to do so will result in punishment. Unlike the punishment for not writing in diaries for survivors which is known to all the hunters [courtesy of Leo Beck]
The only person, or hunter to be more specific, to ever experience the punishment for hunters was Wu Chang.
