Friendly Hunter
Not much was known about the manors owner aside from the fact that they had out of the world powers, whether it be sustaining the manor which housed both the hunters and survivors or managing to drag any of the ‘hunters’ into the mansion. Xie Bi’an had always thanked the owner through letters which never got any replies back (but always disappears when he’s done writing it) or his efforts to keep the hunters side conflict-free and without any discord. Since he was nicknamed The Guard it must have been the owner telling him to take on that role both in game and out! Though, there was just one rule that Xie Bi’an would find himself frequently breaking.
Keeping his scores high.
The survivors who he knew were all just too sweet (or most of the girls to his knowledge that is) and he himself knew he was too soft hearted for his own good. He would frequently let them all go from the start of the game to decode choosing to just stay in the basement the whole time or follow them around so that their scores would increase exponentially at the cost of his.
A friendly hunter was what he was nicknamed from one of the survivors, Emma Woods, when he was following her around while she decoded and broke chairs when any opportunities came by. He felt rather embarrassed being labelled like that since the name had managed to spread even to the hunters side.
Whenever Wu Chang score got too low, Fan Wujiu would intervene, come out and take Xie Bi’an place to maintain a (to both their standards) good score. He always had the lowest scores out of the rest of the hunters despite being one of the first few to stay in the manor since the beginning,even Joseph Desaulnier, the photographer, who only came a few months ago overtook him and quickly soared through the score chart much to a few other hunters surprise and displeasure.
“To show mercy to those you are supposed to hunt, I wonder if I should call you soft hearted or simply an idiot monsieur.” Not a greeting but a snarky comment was the first thing out of Joseph mouth when he saw the white guard calmly sipping tea. Not only did the sight of either of the guards bring ire to him, the fact that they were well-received despite their monstrous scores were another. “We are afterall called hunters for a reason and not survivors.”
Xie Bi’an, who was the one currently in possession of the body simply sipped his tea and pretended not to notice the fight which was being picked. Fan Wujiu who was in his conscious on the other hand was gearing up for the next fight with Joseph when it was his turn to inhabit the body.
“Surely after playing many rounds with the survivors you would have found someone you fancy enough to let go, Mr Desaulniers?”
A scoff and a look of distaste spreads across the french men face. “Utter nonsense. I am not like you or The Ripper.”
“Oh. Is that so?” Looks like Jack is not being subtly in his favouritism towards the mercenary for even The Photographer to notice huh~? Xie Bi’an softly chuckles. “Well maybe that may change in the future. The owner is always inviting new residents afterall and maybe one day you’ll find someone you’ll want to treat the way Jack treats the mercenary.”
“Ridiculous.”
Joseph snarls and the sound of the doors being slammed followed soon after.
But that was of no concern to Xie Bi’an. Even when all the other hunters encouraged him to raise his scores in fear of the owner punishing him he never took their advice seriously, afterall, the owner was his and Fan Wujiu’s savior who brought both of them back and allowed them to be together again!
They must have been a kind hearted person Xie Bi’an always thought.
Oh how tragic.
Oh how wrong he was.
Oh how much he would be put through just to learn he was wrong.
Calm before the storm
A letter was delivered.
Letters to the hunters side was rare and were always bad news. It could only be that there was to be a new (nuisance) hunter that was going to come or the manor owner warning someone of rules being broken. It was unfortunately, the latter.

It has come to my attention that your scores as of late has been sub-par. To further encourage you to increase your scores before the next meeting I have arranged something special to motivate you. After your match today please make your way to Room XXX
