Davos refused to give up his cause as lost. “Begging your pardon, Your Grace, but not all treasure is silver and gold.”
Stannis seemed to consider his words.

Loras drops round just a few days later and Renly is as pleased as anything to see him standing there on his doorstep in the snow, wrapped up in a big coat and a woolly scarf. The snow isn’t settling but more than a few flakes have found their way into his curls, dusting the top of his head like frosting on a cake.
“Hey Ren,” he says, his breath condensing in the cold air. “I’m glad you’re in.”
Renly grins and ushers him into the warm. “Any reason for the visit?”
Loras wipes his feet on the doormat. “Yeah actually,” he says quietly. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”

Loras Tyrell had questioned him about this many times but only got the answer that it would be good for him. Nothing more. His brothers knew even less. All Loras knew was that going to squire for Lord Renly Baratheon could not be as good for him as his father thought. Could Lord Renly even hold a sword? Loras had heard no stories of bravery concerning the king’s youngest brother. Even going to squire for Stannis would be preferable in comparison. At least Stannis had earned some kind of prowess on a battlefield. What did Lord Renly do? Other than sit in court, laugh and look pretty?"
- Yes, this is another Renly/Loras origin-style story. But you can never have too many, can you?;)

"I do," Renly laughed. "A lot." And seeing that he was still being given the time of day, he decided to push his luck. “But I was wondering, perhaps, if I could potentially see you without the clothes?”
"Without the clothes?" Loras Tyrell just smirked a little wickedly at him. “I’d suggest Google," he said. “Or, if you don’t like the internet, you could try Cosmo. The second issue in March last year to be precise.”
Renly laughed. “Well, you know, that’s not really what I had in mind.”
“Is it not?” There was just a hint of a smile on his face.

Jaime raised an eyebrow. “Of course, because it's completely irrational to assume that you might be in a relationship with the guy who sleeps over at least three times a week and who has his own set of keys.” He glanced sideways at Brienne. “The girl might be stupid but she's not that stupid.”
